Hi, I’m Suzy.

I grew up in the historic town of Kamakura, Japan, surrounded by temples, traditional culture, and art.

From an early age, I studied tea ceremony and enjoyed wearing kimono, while developing a deep appreciation for Japanese aesthetics and craftsmanship.

My mother also encouraged me to speak English with visitors from around the world. Living in one of Japan's most popular tourist destinations, I often met international travelers who were curious about Japanese culture. Those conversations inspired me to learn not only how to practice Japanese traditions, but also how to share their meaning.

Years later, after my second international marriage, I moved to Texas to begin a new chapter of life.

Today, I combine my lifelong love of Japanese culture with my passion for connecting people. Through tea, kimono, calligraphy, sushi, and cultural experiences, I hope to help others discover the beauty and spirit of Japan—without flying across the Pacific.

My Approach

The Spirit Behind Japanese Culture

Japanese culture is more than beautiful traditions or elegant ceremonies.

Behind every cup of tea, every bow, every carefully wrapped gift, and every moment of silence is a way of thinking—one that values presence, respect, gratitude, and harmony with others.

Through these experiences, I hope people don't simply learn about Japanese culture—I hope they can feel it.

Sometimes that feeling comes from whisking a bowl of matcha, wearing a kimono, writing a single character with a brush, or sharing a homemade meal.

These small rituals invite us to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—with ourselves, with others, and with the present moment.

I'm not just sharing Japanese culture. I'm sharing a way of living that brings a little more peace, beauty, and mindfulness into everyday life.

"Japanese culture isn't just something to learn—it's something to live and feel."
